Inter hunt team relays 2007

Royal Show - Sunday 1st July

A team of 4 (Robert Howell, Judith Johnson, Kate Roe and Claire Ashcroft) took part in the inter hunt team relay along with 7 other hunts from England and Wales. Despite the appalling weather, and the long wait, our team represented the hunt brilliantly. Well done to you all, for coming equal 5th.

Meanwhile...Our Master, Nick and Holly were busy hobnobbing in the warm and dry with the Countess of Wessex, who thouroughly enjoyed the spectacle!

A big thank you to the few who came along to support the team, it was greatly appreciated!

Blankney Inter Hunt Jumping: Saturday 14th July, Navenby

We took an excellent team of 7 to the Blankney competition on Saturday. We split into 2 teams.

Team A: Robert Howell (Look Up), Judith Johnson (Bond Street), Kate Roe (Chancellor), Alison Grainger (Brookside Clover)

Team B: Nick Ashcroft (Guinness), Kelly Cosgrove (Jaffa), Beani Pears (April) (plus we 'borrowed' a Blankney member to make us up to 4)

Everybody jumped their socks off and negotiated the obstacles excellently, including a gate which they had to open and close. This bothered some members - who would have rather just jump it!!

A very special well done to Beani Pears who only got involved on Friday night. She and her little horse jumped brilliantly - without having been to any of the practices!

Thanks to all who came along to support the team, and we hope you and more will come and suport us at the BIG one - Peterborough Festival of Hunting (Wednesday 18th July).

Peterborough Festival of Hunting: Wednesday 18th July

Well done to all 8 who represented the South Wold so excellently today. Team 'A' won second prize overall, and Team 'B' won the turnout prize. Good whip changes and clear rounds were instrumental to our teams success. See...practice does make perfect!

Also, many congratulations to Ed Finney who did superbly with his terriers, taking the championship. I'll let you know exactly how well when I have spoken to him.

Unfortunately, due to Claire being very poorly, Nick was unable to show hounds at this years show. We wish Claire a very speedy recovery and hope to see her back on he feet soon.

Everybody is looking forward to next year, come on juniors we need you for then! It is NOT a 'closed shop adult riding club', anybody who hunts with us (competition rules) is openly welcome to try out next year. We ope to see many more of you getting involved.
